WORSHIP
Regular Services
Whoever you are, and wherever you find yourself on life’s journey, we will be delighted to welcome you at any of our services. These are the services that happen each week; there are additional services at other times and at special times of the year such as Easter and Christmas which are advertised in our e-news. Some of our services are streamed on Facebook.
Sunday 8:00am
Holy Eucharist
A spoken service with readings from the Bible, a sermon, prayers and bread and wine shared together as Jesus did with his disciples at the Last Supper. This service uses the traditional language of the 1929 Scottish Prayer Book.
Sunday 9:30am (except the 1st Sunday of the month)
Choral Matins
A service with music and words focusing on scripture with hymns to sing and prayers. Much of the music is by the choir who sing choral arrangements of texts from the Bible. There is no sermon at this service. This service also uses the traditional language of the 1929 Scottish Prayer Book.
Sunday 10:30am
Sung Eucharist
This is our main service and you will find a wide-range of people attending. It includes readings from the Bible, hymns to sing, choral music from the choir, a sermon, prayers, and we share bread and wine (communion). All who are baptised are welcome to receive communion, regardless of age. After the service there are refreshments in the Cornerstone Centre, our church hall, and time to chat together. The service is also live-streamed on Facebook, where you can also re-watch past services. It uses the contemporary language of the 1982 Scottish Liturgy.
Sunday 6:00pm
Choral Evensong
Similar in style to Choral Matins, this is a service with music and words focusing on scripture with hymns to sing, prayers, and a sermon. Much of the music is by the choir who sing choral arrangements of texts from the Bible. The service is also live-streamed on Facebook.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30am (in the chapel)
Morning Prayer
A spoken service with readings from the Bible and prayers held in person in the chapel. We follow the Daily Prayer office of the Scottish Episcopal Church, which you can also find here.
Tuesday 3:30pm
Exploring Silent Prayer
Silent prayer has been a part of Christian tradition for many years; it is similar in style to the ‘mindfulness’ which has increased in popularity in recent years. In this service a leader will introduce the session with some thoughts for reflection, which is followed by an extended time of silence and then some concluding prayers. The service lasts around 45 minutes.
Wednesday 11:00am and Thursday 8:30am (in the chapel)
Holy Eucharist
A spoken service with readings from the Bible, a sermon, prayers and bread and wine shared together as Jesus did with his disciples at the Last Supper. The service uses the contemporary language of the 1982 Scottish Liturgy.
Friday 10:30am (in the chapel)
The Ark
A midweek service for babies/toddlers and their parents/carers. Centered around the Eucharist, join us in hearing God’s word through godly play, stories, songs and toys!
