There are many active groups at St John’s. For more information about any of these groups, or if you would like to know more about the life and activities of St John’s then please speak to one of our Ministry Team or contact the Church Office.
The Walking Group organises monthly walks on Saturdays and Thursdays of varying difficulty – an opportunity to walk and talk together in the countryside.
The Choir sing at three services each Sunday and meet each Thursday to rehearse.
Several Book Groups meet on a monthly basis in different members’ homes as well as at St John’s itself to discuss their current choice of reading. You can choose from the Tuesday Evening group, Second Chapter (Tuesday afternoons at St John’s) and the Wednesday afternoon group.
A Theological Book Group meets on a monthly basis.
The St John’s Forum meets on the last Monday in the month via Zoom to discuss a wide range of topics.
The Gardening Group meet regularly to work on the church grounds.
Our own JUST FESTIVAL takes place during August and also organises events at other times of the year.

Guardians
Welcoming Faces
From Easter until the end of September, a group of volunteers called Guardians offer a warm welcome and information about the church to around 20,000 visitors who come through our doors.
Hospitality and openness to the stranger are expressions of love – a love which means that the stranger becomes a friend. At St John’s it is made real by the ministry of the Guardians as well as our welcome before, during and after services. Tourist, worshipper or curious local – all are welcome at St John’s! We currently have around 50 Guardians, taking turns to staff the church for a couple of hours at a time.
If you would like to join us, please contact the church office.
