St John’s is proud to host a monthly support group for the parents of trans children. The group meets on the first Saturday of each month from 10.30am – 12 noon

The organiser of the group said:

As a parent of someone who has recently joined the trans community, I think there is a gap in support for the parents and families around them .

I am looking for a forum where I can find out more about trans people and trans issues. I want to know what kind of support will best help my daughter. I want to know she is getting the best possible advice, and that she understands her options. I want to know how to protect her and make her resilient in a world that may reject her choices. I want to know when to use the right pronouns, I want a better than superficial understanding of a world I know very little about, but above all I’d like to be able to share with others who might also be finding it difficult to get things right in a new paradigm.

If you’re in the same boat, it would be super to meet you at our first support group meeting at St John’s Church, Princes Street on the first Saturday of September at 10:30.

If you’d like to know more then please use the form below to get in touch.
