This summer sees the 400th anniversary of the death of the composer William Byrd. On Saturday, July 1st at 7.30pm, there will be a concert in the church, celebrating Byrd’s vocal and instrumental music through anthems, motets, keyboard and consort music and consort songs given by St John’s Church Choir and David Goodenough, Caroline Cradock soprano, The Squair Mile Consort of Viols, and members of the Edinburgh Branch of the Society of Recorder Players conducted by Anne Martin. There will be a retiring collection for the Bethany Trust for the homeless and St John’s music.
