The Community of the Cross of Nails (CCN) was created by Provost Richard T Howard and others out of the rubbles of Coventry Cathedral after World Word II. It promotes and works for reconciliation between former enemies and prays for peace around the world. There are many chapters around the world and its symbol, the Cross of Nails, is now worn by such people as the current Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Society of St Francis (SSF) is the Anglican expression of the Franciscan order. There are friars, sisters, and associates in provinces around the world who are living the Franciscan way in their particular context as a radical response to the Gospel.
Both CCF and SSN are sponsoring a prayer service for peace at St John’s this coming Remembrance Day, 11 November, 12:30pm. All are welcome!
